Little River Cascades & Aqua Pool Trail is a scenic 3.7km out-and-back trail near Buxton.
Generally rated as moderately challenging, it takes around 1 hour to complete and is perfect for nature lovers looking for a refreshing bushwalk or swim.
The trail leads to the picturesque Aqua Pool, a natural swimming hole surrounded by cascading water and bushland. It begins at the end of Boundary Road in Buxton and follows the Aqua Pool Trail alongside Little River, with a steep, rocky descent into the canyon. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended.
In spring and summer, the area comes alive with waratahs, wildflowers, and the fascinating spoon-leaved sundew; a tiny red insect-eating plant.
How to get there:
- Turn onto Boundary Road, Buxton
- Turn onto 77-83 Boundary Rd No Through Road
- The start of the trail is on the left through a NSW National Parks gate
