When visitors step off the historic steam train at Buxton Station, they’re now welcomed by more than just a charming piece of heritage transport, they’re greeted by a living showcase of firewise garden design, made possible through the dedication of Buxton Landcare and their project partners.

The striking murals at the station are the work of Danny and Adam from Urban Art Australia. One features two firefighters as a tribute to the incredible efforts of the Buxton RFS, whose station is located just across the road from the precinct.

Another mural highlights the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo, a native species found in the Buxton area. A nearby sign will soon include a QR code, inviting visitors to help monitor the return of native wildlife throughout the Buxton Train Station precinct.
