Make Memories in the Dilly

Entertaining and occupying the kids in school holidays can be stressful at the best of times. When the books are read, games are played, movies are watched and your kitchen is looking worse for wear there’s limited options left. Luckily, the Dilly is here to help!

We have put together a list of family friendly activities that suit a range of ages and budgets. The Dilly will have kids enjoying the outdoors, learning about Australian history and making memories through unique experiences.

 

 

Get colourful at Ultimate Paintball

Whether the kids are seasoned experts or heading into battle for the first time, the team at Ultimate Paintball will make sure they have the best experience and come out the other end unscathed (minus being covered in paint!). Ultimate Paintball has over 14 themed battlefields spread across 120 acres of beautiful bushland. Players will storm the airfield, attack at the beach head, slog it out in the trenches and fight their way through life size helicopters. Players must be over the age of 12. Booking in advanced is recommended.

Bush walk or ride at Thirlmere Lakes

Getting outdoors is a great cure to curiosity. Enjoy a morning or afternoon exploring Thirlmere Lakes by foot or bike and challenge the kids to how many different types of native birds they can spot. Play the afternoon away at Livvi’s Place

Livvi’s Place is a large accessible park featuring play equipment that specifically encourages kids to play imaginatively, actively and socially. The park is for everyone regardless of ability or age with a number of exciting things to discover. The park includes sensory items (music, lights, touch and texture), water play, grassy areas, pathways and state of the art equipment that can be accessed by prams, wheel chairs and walkers.

Parents are taken care of with shaded picnic areas, cafes located close by and free BBQ facilities.

 

Try something old & new at The Candy Train

Treat the family to a visit at the Candy Train for a huge range of speciality lollies, chocolates, fudge and confectionary from all over the globe. The unique candy shop will put a smile on everyone’s face and bring about some childhood nostalgia for the parents. PS, be on the lookout for symptoms of sugar overload after a visit to the store!

 

Have a little friendly competition at Picton Karting Track & Mini Golf

Bring your museum experience to life with a scenic steam train ride from the historic Thirlmere station to Buxton and return. Please note stream train rides are available on weekends only.
