To development a viable, commercially sustainable tourism initiative in partnership with Wollondilly Shire Council and the tourism operators of the Wollondilly area.
Inaugural Annual General Meeting was held on 17 August 2000
A meeting was called by the Picton Chamber of Commerce in February 2000. About 80 people attended this meeting and an interim committee was elected to look at the viability of starting an operator's group.
At the February meeting Wollondilly Shire Council's General Manager pledged the continuing support of Council for tourism, particularly through the Visitor Information Centre at the Old Picton Post Office. However, he said, the tourism sector would have to take some responsibility for tourism in the Shire including marketing.
The Interim Board produced a recommended business plan, which was accepted at a meeting held at Antill Park Country Golf Club in June 2000.
An incorporated Association, with a Board of Directors, working within the Department of Fair Trading Model Rules for Incorporated Associations.
Is open to every business of the Wollondilly Shire. It has been the belief of every Board of Directors that every business in the Shire benefits from tourism in one way or another.
