Caress a Crocodile! Pat a Python! Bring the family along to Wirrimbirra Sanctuary at Bargo on Sunday 28th February, and get up close and personal with lots of amazing creatures of the slithery kind.
“Crocodile Encounters” will host reptile shows at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, with plenty of hands-on opportunities for young and old.
Join in the excitement of the Wirrimbirra Puppet Theatre and learn more about our unique native wildlife at the puppet shows.
Visit Wirrimbirra’s gift stall for a souvenir of the day, or choose from the selection of Australian-made soft native animal toys and puppets. Browse the Native Nursery for lots of great specials. There’ll be kids’ activities, displays and info from local community groups, and the Wirrimbirra barbie and café will provide plenty of food during the day.
For a gold coin, you can take a stroll through the Wildlife Walk to see kangaroos, wallabies, cockatoos, emus, wombats, and the free-flight aviary with its magnificent inhabitants. There are more beautiful native birds in another aviary near the Nursery.
At 10am, explore the unique bushland of Wirrimbirra with a National Parks guide. Contact Beth by phone on 4625 1583, or by email – michie@exemail.com.au for details of the bushwalk.
This fun and educational day is on Sunday 28th February, between 10am and 3pm, at Wirrimbirra Sanctuary, located on Remembrance Drive about half-way between Bargo and Tahmoor.
Wirrimbirra is a National Trust (NSW) property, and is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers. Entry to Wirrimbirra is free, but your donation as you arrive will be greatly appreciated and will assist in the ongoing work of the Sanctuary.
